In Collaboration with Nikhil Bang

Instructor: Eric Owen Moss

Locating at the intersection of the W Jefferson Blvd and National Blvd in Culver City, California, the project aims at redefining skyscraper and office space in the context of quarantine. The original tower structure is torn up in the middle to push out partial structure overhang to offer space of more penetration with the urban environment.

By offering two distinct readings of the structure buildup, the program of working and leisuring are bleed at their connection point. The building offers different angles and levels of interacting with the city. Circulation achieves more freedom of flowing.

By treating the skyscraper as an operable and breathable shelter, the material and form chunkness is vitalized and dissolved.

SECTION CHUNKThe torn up of the original structure at the middle creates bleeding between office and leisure, opens up free-flowing of circulation.
